“ally” - a concept developed in intersectional antiracist and LGBTQ+ activism. “allyship” is not another word for white solidarity. so, e.g., if you’re white and use it outside that context people may suspect you’re racist.

“woke” used ironically. may lead people to suspect your ideas are shaped by fascists on 4chan.

PS because the origins of unironic “woke” lie in Black activism, a white person’s ironic use of “woke” is in essence racist stereotyping akin to digital blackface. if that’s not your intention, don’t use it.

(and yes that applies also if you’re a white person using it to describe other white people; you’re still using a caricature of Black culture for your own fights.)

a white person's use of the N-word: don't. do not. has a Black friend told you it's okay for you to use it? (seriously – I have had people try to justify their use of it to me that way) still don't! why on earth would you? no one has told you that you *have to* use it, did they?

"the 14 words": anyone using this is by definition a nazi. when they're using it to troll, that is no less true: it merely means they're a nazi who trolls. and anyone opening the door for a nazi is an enabler of nazism.

and anyone in a community that welcomes known nazis is, again, an enabler of nazism.

someone you know regularly uses disparaging ethnic or racial epithets? yeah, they're definitely racist, however jokey they present it, and however progressive they claim to be

PSA for those who don’t know what I’m talking about: if you see someone whose feed has these two all over it, they’re (at least) fascist adjacent. if you let someone with these all over their feed into your digital life: congratulations, you are now, too, fascist adjacent! pic.twitter.com/3x20D8eM8f
