"removes the issues from people in a good way" – it is OUTRAGEOUS that the issues need to be "removed" from the people most directly affected in order for us to be able to take their critique as undismissable

yet that's EXACTLY what we're demanding as a field. yes we can have a name change, but only AFTER those pesky people resigned from our board. yes we can have a "safe" conference, but only after we've ensured those people KNOW our conference is not safe for THEM. etc. ad inf.

FYI I had taken out the ID of the poster of the words which I *did* critique because I took those words as typical of a dynamic, and did not wish my tweet to be perceived as an attack on the person posting them. this is so much bigger than any individual in our discipline. 2/2
