What was the last thing that you earned $350 doing? For me, it was not even a full week of work at my summer job.
The job I do is basically "regular" work but I only do it during the summer ^^ But I'm guessing there aren't many fields where you need to put in as many hours as it goes into prac/grinding cups and tournaments during a whole year of SC2 
This looks like half a month of a salary of a university lecturer in Eastern Europe. It requires quite an investment to get one :)

Such events seem very rough for the "average" contender there :/ Hope they can make it more sustainable for more people next time
