There are some technical limitations on how ability hover/ability select range indicators work in the SC2 engine, which would make your suggested implementation unwieldy.
can't it only be showed when u have probe selected + selecting to build battery?

Sure, but I would argue that benefits of the information gained from having the nexus always having the range indicator outweigh the negatives of the minor annoyance. I suspect this is something players will eventually adapt to, but willing to reconsider my opinion given time.

I mean, isn't it just useless to have it like this? Like u always want to build battery in the range of the nexus, but how the current state of this indicator will help? I just don't see when its actually useful, since u either build ur battery in range or u dont even try
