Of course random has an advantage Vs protoss. You are forced to lowground pylon wall Vs all races

In the overall picture it's not, because Random player skill wise is worse than whatever player they are playing with 2/3 races and perhaps equal skill with one. There is a reason why there's no Random players and that's not because they have advantage anywhere.

I mean we are talking about this statement, not about situation overall? I think it’s correct to say that Random has advantage vs Protoss, but usually the reason why people don’t like to play vs them (on higher lvls) is because it just doesn’t improve anything for tournament play

People not liking playing vs Random is besides the point, that's an opinion and I understand why people don't like playing vs Random. Saying that Random has an advantage vs Protoss is just incorrect because everyone assumes that Random Players P is equal MMR as opponents MMR.

Do you think that a Random player that's 5800 MMR, but his Protoss is 5400 MMR has an advantage over 6k MMR Protoss player because of the low ground placement? 6k MMR player will win majority of the games even if that player is forced to put his buildings on the low ground.

I think that assuming different skill levels is beside the point regarding if random has an advantage or not. If you assume same skill level (which you claim never happens and I kind of agree, at least on high level) then it's obvously an advantage for the random player 1/2

An example is a game of chess. A 1500 ELO player may get an opening advantage and a "winning" position against a 2000 ELO player. We would of course still say that the 1500 player has the advantage, even if the 2000 player is better 2/2

Advantage - a condition or circumstance that puts one in a favorable or superior position. In theory sure, in practice no - because the majority of the times the Random player will have lower MMR with Toss than his opponent.

I might be wrong with word “advantage” in this case. But anyway, in ur starting tweet u didn’t say anything about existing random players, and for me it’s obvious that it’s about a comparison of 2 similar players (like 5800R and 5800P)

my original tweet was a rant/reply to reddit threads saying how Random is unfair on ladder due to Random players having an advantage of opponents not knowing their race

Well, imbalance is kinda weird theme for me overall, don’t really like to talk about it. But I guess on lower levels, 3k maybe, there are a lot of randoms who has similar mmr with one race players, doesn’t it gives them advantage? Although I think skill differences with 3k mb big

Sure, on lower levels its different. But do you see those players bringing up getting "free wins" when Random player gets their worst race and completely sucks with it? Of course not. People only bring up "facts" when it suits their stories.

I mean, you have to realign the premiss of the argument for it to suit you. The random player naturally has an advantage vs a protoss player, there may or may not be other factors weighing in to negate the advantage the random player gets, but that's irrelevant to the core point.
