“I can fill more voids and do better work for women right now,” because of “who I am and what’s happening in our society...women’s clothes have gotten more serious, and men’s clothes have gotten more playful, which I think is just a reflection of our time”

Marie Antoinette was rich, spent a lot of money (the French people disdainfully called her “Madam Deficit”). She was young and beautiful, and she was beheaded 10 years after this famous portrait was painted.

3/3 among other measures. Should a local city law enforcement agency have the power to police fashion's race issues even across the ocean? This actually has implications for the whole industry. Read and tell me what you think -

2/3 Pretty much ever since the New York Commission on Human Rights has been investigating and in settlement talks with the brands. Tuesday evening, Prada was the first to sign an agreement. It involves racial equity training even in Milan in the C-suite & reporting for two years-

1/3 This was one of craziest stories I have reported. Remember when Prada, Gucci and Dior got in trouble for racist products/imagery? Everyone got upset, they apologized and made reparations, we thought that was the end of it? Turns out that was not true,

Only 2% of garment workers make a living wage while fashion CEOs continually make “richest person in the world” lists

Like, if I want a whole-ass donut, I’m going to take and eat a whole-ass donut! I’m not doing this “let’s get a knife and cut into pieces” like no.

Anyways, diet culture has gotten way out of hand it’s truly fascinating in the workplace. If I’ve learned anything in my nearly two years working in an office space, it’s that I’m going to eat what I want and I’m not going to deprive myself.

Okay bu what do I know about weddings and marriage and relationships?!?!?!? Nothing. My opinion is irrelevant.

And if you’re going to lose weight for your wedding, have a goal time in mind that isn’t by your final dress fitting or worse, your wedding day. That’s not going to play out well.

If you ask me (no one’s asking me), I believe you should look the best version of yourself for your wedding, but the key is “yourself.” If you want to slim down for your wedding, great - actually, no - slim down for YOURSELF and your health and wellness.

And one toxic point in all of this is that this person is determined to lose 35lbs(???) by their wedding and now discusses this everyday with expressions like “omg I’m starving myself today” - like THIS IS NOT OKAY. THIS IS UNHEALTHY AND CAN BE TRIGGERING TO OTHERS.

Like, stop. You want a wedding, not a marriage.

Somewhat related - there’s one person who is getting married later this year and this person has complained about so many red flags since before they got engaged and it is so annoying as well as uncomfortable to hear this person discuss their wedding.
