That magazine will not sale in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and any number of Muslim countries. What is the point and what is SI trying to prove?

Maybe my Grandma June could do a spread? She feels 83 year old women are not represented in magazines wearing swimwear. Certainly by this logic you have to include her or else #ageism

So now we are normalizing and celebrating oppression?!?

How is she being oppressed when she is making the choice to wear it? Do you say the same to nuns? Or how about all the Christian women who religiously wore headscarf’s up until literally the last 50 years or so?

There are women in the middle east risking their lives to fight against wearing hijabs. They are legally required in some countries- not a choice. That's what she is referring to.

“Choice” is the operative word here. Believe it or not, some women actually choose to wear the hijab/burka. If you truly believe in freedom, people need to respect that and not enforce thief opinion either way.

My point was, it isn't a choice in parts of the middle east, and women are being murdered over it. If women choose to wear a hijab, cool... but let's not pretend this is the same as a nun.
