    I'm not deaf and I love subtitles. I know a lot of folks with find subtitles helpful to better follow/stay engaged with what's happening in a show, plus my hearing is often muffled because of the symptoms of my mast cell disease.

    Subtitles aren't just for deaf people. Lots of my hearing friends use them, too. If you're hearing and find yourself using subtitles on Netflix and TV and would quite like them at the cinema, please retweet to help normalise their presence! Big thanks

    I think something a lot of people miss is that the push to close institutions has always been spearheaded by the people who survived them.

    My goal is get the institutions closed I hoping to at least help get Rainer State school closed before my friend mike Raymond dies. that the one that in my county. I want justice for residents who were abused and neglected there.

    I mean, why is anyone surprised by this? They are a disability charity, of course they are terrible and care more about their PR and profits rather than disabled people. Like, also D/deaf people can also be wheelchair users btw.

    Parent opinions are important, especially for people who might have difficulty communicating preferences and desires in ways that are understandable. I don’t understand the push by some parents to totally subsume the identities of their children.

    A parent advocacy group is not a patient advocacy group. It is a parent advocacy group. Think about the goals you had versus the goals your parents wanted you to have. They’re different!

    At a SIG discussing partnerships between patient advocacy groups and scientists this morning, the community discusses how to accelerate development of treatments that improve quality of life for individuals who most need them. Lots of people... one shared goal.
