I find Marth to be a lot easier and Falcon to me a lot harder What makes Falcon closer to even, in your opinion

The main reason is probably neutral. Mario can preemptively do an up tilt and that stuffs all of Falcon's events. Plus chain throw/edge guard. Marth is tough to contest in raw neutral situations.

Nope. Never said that. I've said for years it's a "soft counter." Not necessarily terrible.
