If you want AFFORDABLE housing, it’s a lot faster to build affordable (public) housing, expropriate vacant units, and control rents. Bc we will all be dead before the market makes housing meaningfully cheaper even in yimtopia, a place w/ no zones!

Of course, SFPD gets a shout-out in the column about out-of-control policing. The problem is strong police unions and weak Democratic politicians.
Mayor Breed gave the police union massive raises and overtime last year, after numerous cops arrested, scandals, killing a victim.
