BART continues to provide service during Shelter in Place. Riders we spotted on our trains today: health care professionals, airport workers, local media, law enforcement, and other essential workers. We thank them for their hard work – and for maintaining social distancing!

Ridership for Tuesday, March 17 – the first day of Shelter in Place order – was 54,031. That's a 87% drop from an avg Tuesday in Feb 2020. With low ridership, social distancing is possible at BART for riders performing essential activities or commuting to/from essential work.
We will be maintaining our base 15-minute headways during regular commute hours. Please note the extra AM and PM commute trains on the Yellow (Antioch-SFO) Line will not be running starting tomorrow due to low ridership.
