BART continues to provide service during Shelter in Place. Riders we spotted on our trains today: health care professionals, airport workers, local media, law enforcement, and other essential workers.
We thank them for their hard work – and for maintaining social distancing!

Ridership for Tuesday, March 17 – the first day of Shelter in Place order – was 54,031.
That's a 87% drop from an avg Tuesday in Feb 2020.
With low ridership, social distancing is possible at BART for riders performing essential activities or commuting to/from essential work.
