The #DARTMission is now one Dimorphos orbit away from their meeting. The Didymos system right now is still about 3x too dim to see with the naked eye from DART. It's under 264,000 km away from it in the constellation of Capella.

Frank Drake (May 28, 1930 - Sep 2, 2022), pioneer of the SETI field (he invented it), father of the Drake equation, founder of (in 1984), director when I joined the institute, father, orchids lover, and an amazing role model for a lot of us.

Successful observations by @unistellar & @setiinstitute citizen astronomers of an occultation by Titan on July 8 from CA, OK, FL and OT. Congrats' to all of them. The signature of Titan atmosphere is obvious despite the shallow (0.8 mag) occultation. This was a tough one!
