Managing expectations does matter. I was concerned all along about the campaign's rationale being basically "inevitability." That's dangerous if you don't deliver.

Not sure if that's fair though. Nobody had Biden winning Iowa. And Kloubauch is from the neighboring state and taking votes that would have gone to Joe. After NH (or during) I don't think that's a factor anymore.

538 had biden with a pretty good shot of winning iowa. he was leading in iowa polls up to the last three weeks or so. and klobuchar isn't next door to nh and she's still taking votes there.

‘92 was a hot mess. And Perot had a lot do with eroding Bush Sr’s republican base, which is how we got Clinton, if I recall. That too, was a circus primary/election. But Bush Sr wasnt a full on cheating, con artist, traitor. So i dont want to compare either i guess.
