    As we wake up and still have no results from the caucus debacle, it’s a good time to remember the the committee to set the Dem primary calendar was the Unity and Reform Committee. There were defenders of caucuses on the committee.Folks like me argued caucuses were anti-democratic

    The worst part of the is that Trump will use this to delegitimize our 2020 election overall. When Trump loses in November - and he 100% will- Trump will claim like Iowa, the elections in states were corrupted. Trump is how democracies die.

    A lot of the changes since '16 in Iowa probably contributed to the mess last night. But one had the potential to bail them out, and they didn't take it: the requirement to bind delegates to the result of the precinct caucus

    What a mess. Bloomberg's gonna wind up the nominee.

    If you carefully read both the Buttigieg and Sanders memos, I don't think either campaign is particularly confident that it's going to win Iowa, at least not across all 3 metrics. There is a lot of ambiguity ("at representative precincts") and hedging ("winning the SDE count").

    Stephen, you were the only Black man running (or who was driving through) and I was the only gay with fashion sense, so naturally. more so, we also won because we dont live in iowa.

    All the white candidates, except Biden, does this. It’s just so weird. I’ll never understand it.

    Out of the 100 or so supporters standing behind Pete Buttigieg right now, every single one of the black people seem to be strategically positioned directly behind Pete so they'll all be in the camera shot.

    The eventual Dem nominee won IA in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2016. That streak probably ended tonight, as it was more correlation than causation, I think. Now IA is on track to be the as predictive for Dems as it’s been for Republicans since 2008.

    Iowa doesn't always decide the nominee. The Iowa Republicans didn't choose Trump. I think it's weird people act like whoever wins Iowa will win the nomination. That happens sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't.
