    For all the local Conservatives were saying they’d protect Green Belt, they still advocate for the new road with it’s congestion, pollution, and the whole new towns likely to be built alongside it. We say no.

    The Green Party’s Julie Callow in this morning’s Echo raising the safety concerns about the sluice at . Many ducklings have already been endangered by this sluice, and the council still refuses to install adequate safety measures.

    I don’t want to catch anybody saying that voting for is wasted vote or that voters should hold their nose and vote Labour. Bristol has voted Green and sent a clear message that it is fed up with the system as it is. If you want Green, join us and vote Green.

    Few days ago I was remarking how Prittlebrook's a fab green corridor for bees/butterflies with its lovely wildflowers/nettles. Now... Why ? No need for the brook to be "tidy". It was a wildlife haven! Flowers = insects = bats/birds. A travesty.

    Thanks to our candidates, volunteers, and our several thousand supporters for helping us achieve this great result. Thanks also to the council’s elections team who have all worked tirelessly under the difficult circumstances to enable democracy to happen in Southend.

    Voters across Southend voted in their thousands for bold climate action and for the new innovative ideas the Greens offer. In many wards, our hardworking Greens placed third, ahead of the Lib Dems and Independents.
