Not that we aren't looking forward to it (we DEFINITELY are!). Just seeing a lot of people referring to it as the former, and they're different things.

That's what we're thinking as well. Which is great, we love WonderCon! But lots of people are definitely thinking it's actual SDCC.

It won't be as great and as big as the real SDCC. Watch it be like one of those local Cons in other cities and States, not taking anything away, more power to you but if you're expecting something huge then get ready to be let down and disappointed

Definitely. We're expecting WonderCon-ish, which is great, we love WonderCon! But don't want people to be surprised/disappointed by size.
