200 members of the @CaArmyGuard are in the county following a request from @SDSheriff Gore. They will work alongside law enforcement providing security to critical infrastructures (public buildings, courthouses, power grids, etc.) during the protests to prevent looting & arson.
The @CaArmyGuard troops will support local law enforcement to thwart any vandalism, destruction of properties and business break-ins. This mutual aide will help keep our communities safe while protecting everyone's right to protest.

Thank you! Sheriff Deputies (& other ranks) are working 12, 16, 18 hour shifts while being provoked much of that time. They NEED and DESERVE a break.

Cool. It’s not like we had any problems with police trained in deescalation losing their tempers and hurting protestors. I’m sure it will be fine to bring in soldiers who aren’t trained in riot control.
