What the sticking point for an unfederated two way peg? I mean, without changes to the protocol (eg. BIPs 300 and 301)?

I hope that Bitcoin someday soft-forks to add drivechain support, either with BIP300 or with my own BIP-R11 (github.com/rsksmart/bips/). But financial inclusion can't wait. The RSK community is committed to achieve the highest peg security until drivechain is activated in Bitcoin.

CountAcks is stateless. No additional DB is required. BIP300 is stateful. 2 additional DBs are required.
