    Now, I don't actually know anything about current AI, but I remember it was a hot new subject in college and me arguing "But you have to seed it with human intelligence, right? And it goes merrily off on paths prioritized by humans?" And I've been sighing ever since.

    Every time I read about how algorithms are gonna save us from ourselves I sigh and think that tech whiz boys remain as oblivious now as two generations ago when I was an oft-sighing tech whiz girl.

    I wrote a support vector machine to spit out the most obvious shit on the planet, in vulnerability assessment, hoping it would help me graduate and get a non-existing job, when I knew the Army was lying to me. I'm guilty af.
