Stunning. How does this compare to 1st week of EV in 2016, 2018?

Prior to 2019 we only collected data for a slice of the largest Counties. We now collect statewide (254 Counties). However, if you used the benchmark of Bexar, Dallas, Tarrant, Travis, and Harris (Texas' five Largest Counties)

You can’t compare the every four years data the way most people are. There are 4 million more registered voters in Texas than in 2016. I think that’s the number. So, of course, there will be more raw votes. I like a turnout percentage to compare.

Well only 9 million people voted in Texas for 2016. This is remarkable given Texas historic apathy.

Actually, the first week of early voting isn't done yet. Early voting started on a Tuesday this time, so the first week should include today's turnout.
