The reason this is happening is because Airlines do not think in political terms, they think in business terms. It's not as much an endorsement of the CCP's pressure as it is anxiety over losing access to the world's largest aviation market. It's no offense to Taiwan. Money talks

Thus in doing this no airline is being truly "political", just like it was not political (it was organisational) when they listed Taiwan as a seperate area/territory. However, it is a major ideological victory for the CCP nonetheless in its "maximum pressure" campaign over Tsai.
