Always find it strange that the national language of Singapore is BM but apart from native speakers, nobody else speak it.

Nobody's claiming anything. We actually spoke BM-Riau which is a standard in Malaysian and Singaporean just that ours a lil bit formal. Doesn't mean our country was separated for 53 years, we talk differently.. I mean we're here before having 4 national languages... lel
