*around Taiwan If they were 'over Taiwan' they'd be in the Taipei Flight Area, the MoD would have scrambled fighters to intercept, and it would be an actual international incident you'd be reporting on instead. Words matter, please use them with a little more care.

I don’t think China is adequately equipped for a full-scale conventional war to invade Taiwan. What it has been doing is just bluffing and is at best part of a continuing campaign of its 68-year-long psychological warfare to destabilise Taiwan.
