I think if offered Universal suffrage, that would bring calm. At least that could give hope to Hong Kong

Sadly, the trust was undercut by blatant racism, with now ethnically cleansed universities in "glorious" HK. Mainland Chinese people can certainly claim rights as well, such as visiting or living in any city in their country. Fear of sinophobes taking over need to be addressed.

What is not understood by foreign experts is that this protest movement has no central leadership. There is no one to negotiate with, who can control the fragmented mob and keep to whatever agreement reached. Their strength is in being totally fluid, so not easily attacked.
-
By nature the movement can only behave negatively, always against, reject, and demand unrealistic goals. This is their core weakness - they cannot establish and hold any constructive position. The collapse of the siege at HKCU highlights this.

What about
#FiveDemandsNoOneLess? Isn't that a precondition? The protest movement is so hysterical now that I can't see dialogue getting anywhere without all five of its impossible demands being handed over first.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

These sound like great ideas but maybe not so simple to carry out with the govt and HKPD’s current mindset. There has to be a ceasefire, cooling off period from all parties before any conversation can begin...there is no trust now

Returning to peace and sit down to start talking, is this a pre- condition? I thought that that is all the govt being requesting for so long..

Cuts both ways. What about the protestors “5 demands no less?” They should drop that precondition.

Time for dialogue already gone.... no trust between HKers and HK Gov, HK Police..... no one wants to dialogue with them, also because they all not willing to listen and understand the route cause
