Well apparently HK police don’t have to show ID, so no worries I guess

The victim waited for a police car to arrive to be sure he wasn’t robbed by a real cop

Nowadays, most HK police cover up their faces & refuse to carry & disclose authority card. It makes it easy for criminals in disguise as police to commit crimes. HK Govt must address this issue before more such crimes rise to critical levels.

But you cannot show photos of any officer’s face, even on CCTV. SO there is no way to catch the perpetrator. Actually - EVERYONE is now going to dress like a cop & commit crimes! They can’t be caught on camera! Brilliant!

Apparently the tourist got used to the system that the police can do anything to a citizen, even without a search warrant. Now u should recognize it is important to control the power of police and police needs to stick to it.

please bring the right laws in place that this doesnt happen to more of the much needed tourists to hong kong. i would recommend for example to make sure ppl can identify police, or they have ways and rights to verify ID before proceeding further. give rights to both sides

Of course this was going to happen with a police force being absolutely indistinguishable in professionalism, behavior, and dress-code from criminals.
