An unnecessary action by the student tat caused tax payers to pay for his stupidity to treat and rehabilitate him. Shld hv stayed in school & learn how to be good citizen & capitalize on China's vast economies. Not dropping out to become Trump's dogs.

Usually I'm not in agreeance with Chinese state media. But they have a point. The kid's school is implicitly condoning his behaviour, his actions, and violence by supporting him. But then again, if they don't, their school would be burned down the next day. Can't blame em.

This is so wrong in two dimension. 1. we haven’t gone through the court yet, but they see themselves as judge and already jump to the conclusion and 2. Does state media represent the state? This become central government pressuring a local school?

The school did its calculation and decided this is best option at this point. I expect the principal to resign not too far in the future.

The school is more terrified of rioters burning down their school the next day, than being condemned by Chinese state media/Beijing. But whichever side he picks, he's in trouble.

HK schools are appalling. Most teachers are against the government although getting paid by the government.

The government is paid by its people. It’s appalling neither the government nor the police are listening to its people but being paid by its people.
