If the police have been fair and just, then this article is applicable. Charge a protestor who’s merely shouting slogans with rioting (10 years jail) but the gangster who beat up people goes scot-free or charged with unlawful assembly (5 years jail)? How is this fair?

The prosecution may press charges but they better produce the evidence.

Surprised to see the writer was head of ICAC. What kind of sentencing does he think police should get for their assault on innocent Hongkongers? Heavy sentencing of protestors make them martyrs for the movement.

Not sentencing the triad members who beat up innocent citizens and the police who execute force unlawfully will trigger more riot

Exactly- most Hong Kongers feel that sentencing should fit the crime- leniency would only encourage more rioting
