One is a “democratic country” with a ruling party that is afraid of losing the ppl’s support, the other is a city governed by career bureaucrats who answers to no one but Beijing and vested interests. With no accountability, the HK gov’t has no motivation to improve ppl’s lives.

The veneer is democracy in Singapore but free speech particularly against government or any enterprise it supports is crushed. Wildlife trade is rife there and enabled by Govt departments. Many locals whine about PAP. It’s Disneyland with the death penalty.

Singapore is a democratic society. Its citizens are not afraid to raise issues to the govt. The difference is that sg govt listens... Of course, there are also stray Singaporeans who speaks the untruths and these individuals will face justice in a court of law!
