And communist country state media demanding for her freedom of speech and democratic rights sounds like a bit of hypocrisy
. They usually defend their system when they get criticised about one party system of PRC, yet they still want their democratic rights.

A white Anglo male grabs CHINESE reporter from behind... she was arguing with a mannerless young Chinese man who was harassing her... he wasn't restrained, though... the BRITISH organizers are responsible for the sexist abuse by both these men. She had only slapped away his hand

If it was a setup, it could be interpreted as stalking + a provocative diplomatic incident...

Why was she real released without charges? The only reason would be if she wasn't really a reporter, but was rather a government employee masquerading as a reporter and the embassy informed the police she had diplomatic immunity.

shut up Poirot - i think you are missing the point - Those that restrained her assaulted her regardless of who she is - they need arresting and given a night or two in the nick

brain wash by chinese government

Brainwashing by western media. Did they even try to show the reporters ide of the story? Why do you think the embassy is supporting her and asking for an apology. Very objective reporting. no bias at all
