The worst thing about this is that it was completely avoidable. All three parties share some of the blame.

Crickey... what’s happened to Swedish customer service? It should have been a simple procedure to check into the hotel...

It’s midnight. There might not have been rooms available until their check in the next day.

1) As a Swede with some knowledge about Swedish praxis I would like to say that even if it was a Swedish family that had checkin time the day after they would not be allowed to checkin at the middle of the night and they would not be allowed to stay in the hotel lobby either.

2) I cannot comment if the police was to forceful when removing the tourists or not (I was not there), but I can say that they have the right to do so, and that the do that often when there is unruly persons of some kind. Most commonly when someone is drunk and causing trouble.

3) that they moved them to a cemetery is to me quite nice of them as cemetery’s are most often located in the city. Most often they remove unruly persons to a field outside the city where there are little ways of finding transportations.
