    Don't drop SMS 2FA unless there is an alternative, it's better than nothing. But do be aware that some services automatically enable your phone number for SMS password recovery, which can allow sim swappers to bypass all authentication.

    Users are advised to drop SMS 2FA. Most wireless carriers in the US are vulnerable to SIM Swapping attacks and lack proper procedures to fend off hackers.

    I recommend checking if a service has set your phone number as the password recovery device. Try to reset your password and if it just sends a reset link via SMS, consider switching to email recovery instead.

    New - This is pretty bad. The FCC funds a program offering free Android phones to low-income people. The Android phones come pre-loaded with Chinese malware... that you can't remove. Wtf.
