Big supporter of shaking up the game! Look at the huge changes Dota makes, even League to some extent. Bring back the HERC?https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/fbxpjn/i_think_the_game_needs_a_bigger_shakeup_than_what/ …

I think shaking up the game boosts casual interest, viewership and everything for SC2. Of course balance is a big issue, but it changes the skillset necessary making flexibility/adaptability more important.

Dota has such a huge player-boost after every patch, would love to see the same for Starcraft. Will add to the longevity of the game. I understand it might lose some of its "pureness". But if it actually works, Blizzard might consider putting more resources back into sc2

That's not true at all for DotA. You need to dig way more into the figures if you want to make claims like this.

Yeah and 7.00 or the latest one gutted the number of players (at least for a while, too short to tell right now for the latest). There is no definite trend regarding big patches and number of players to draw conclusions for DotA2.

I mean I just provided a source supporting my argument with some data. Of course basing it on the steamcharts data is limited and only Valve has the real numbers. I am just saying from the limited amount of data we have it seems to support shaking up the game.

Regardless I'll agree its not the strongest argument. But changing up the game does not seem to have huge adverse effects, and I do think Starcraft needs some change in the coming three years

I think focusing on other arguments (and I'm way more curious about the impact on audience) is a better idea. Gutted is an exaggeration on my side but it didn't change the trend, slowly downhill. Biggest player boost for both DotA & SC have by far been new modes (autochess/coop)
