this same factor is being done with co-op commanders and the like. blizz has already stated that co-op has the largest player base. you get the same "wow!" factor with co-op without fucking over balance and the competitive scene.
Again, don't care about the competitive scene for now. Especially for blizzard as it doesn't bring in money and is just a sinkhole. Fortnite does well and that's purely because of streamers and stuff. Game would get a huge swell of promotion from new units and stuff

my point is that you can bring in new players by continuing to promote co-op, the game mode with the largest player base already, without also screwing over the competitive side, which can easily result in a LOSS of players if you fuck over balance.
