Integrative centers being funded by businesses that are clearly marketing pseudoscience, and infamous for taking advantage of patients, adds another reason for concern. The marriage of doTerra and medicine is harmful. No good will come of it.

How do you feel about behavioral medicine integrated into areas of need? "Health and wellness" already has a marketing foothold and does damage to activity and energy balance behavior...Can the current model adjust to help scaffold bx change? Or mental health? Actually curious
-
What do you mean by behavioral medicine? And what areas of need? Which current model? I’m just trying to buy time because I don’t have a great answer.

Entire industries (naturopathic medicine) relay on the fabricated hence untruthful implication, that conventional care fails to address aspects of biopsychosocial care, nutrition, mental health etc.
-
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it actually does fail. More often than not. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left a PC appt after 15 minutes with absolutely nothing of use. Or worse, something that exacerbates the problem. Fabricated? Not at all.

Conventional medicine is unparalleled when it comes to emergency medicine, surgery and diagnostic capabilities but it is sorely lacking when it comes to prevention, nutrition and it prescribes only risky treatments of autoimmune disease and cancer.

Disagree, especially in pediatrics. The lion’s share of what we do is prevention: anticipatory guidance, injury prevention, immunizations, behavioral health and developmental screenings for early intervention. Most chronic dz has its roots in childhood. We can prevent that w care

Conventional care models are becoming abject failures at communicating across the silos. Self inspection rather than self congratulation is in order.

I go to a clinic with dental care, behavioral health, nutrition, nurse educators and PCPs all at the same location. It really helps to coordinate care. Unfortunately there aren't enough psychiatric care practitioners. waiting is always an issue. The clinic is beautiful too.
-
That’s integrating real medical care. Not integrating medicine and quackery
