It’s about 30% across the entire country, but probably less now as that stat is older. Yes some provinces cut far more than others. Stats were from WHO I think. Also, most provinces the federal healthcare doesn’t cover circ and has to be done in private clinics. Making- https://twitter.com/sbmpediatrics/status/1058861958831767554 …

Then you haven’t been researching the circ industry or intactivism enough. I hear from parents all the time that they were asked several times to circ their child or even bullied into it. It’s not uncommon. You’re lucky if you’ve never been in such an environment
-
@opticon9 He was one of many parents asked many times to circ his son and had to say no a lot. There are other horror stories out there where some hospitals won’t even release you if you refuse circ, although this is more rare -
Yep. Both sons, 4 years apart, got badgered 6 times each, including twice in the first minute of the second's precipitous, double nuchal delivery, by the same practitioner who had already asked us twice during prenatal checkups even though we said "No!" every time. It was absurd
-
Ugh what is wrong with them? Why do they think you’ll magically change your answer. I’m sorry you went through that. And I hope their badgering didn’t convince other parents to circ..

Not pushed on us per se, but two different nurses came to our room to take our son away to be circumcised despite his chart indicating otherwise. It was more frustrating to me than assumptions by nurses I would breastfeed (I had a double mastectomy a decade ago).

Sounds like a good reason to have a home birth
