Max funding rates never really made sense to me. If the fair rate is very negative then bounding funding rates just makes perps illiquid.

ok check out this incentive design by gate dot io though (also this is the funding rate as a function of measured premium to "mark price" where "mark price" is a function of previous period funding and real spot prices)
