I’d like to disagree. Let me put it this way, states (countries) are like companies and statesmen are a bunch of CEOs arguing for self interest (or hopefully the interest of the “company”). It’s simple. It’s an exchange of interests. If anyone needs help with this, call me.

It's been really interesting paying more attention to foreign policy statements globally So much of it is people talking past each other--either for political reasons, or because they actually don't understand where the other side is coming from We, as a world, can do better

sometimes that's what's going on but sometimes it's not -- sometimes the conflict itself is just based on a misunderstanding

agreed but in this world, sometimes large swaths of entire governments can turn into echo chambers are all get something wrong on foreign policy (good thing that could never happen on domestic policy :P)
