yeah I think the community has not thought very carefully about the actual factors involved here and is not being very strategic :P seriously half the things said here would backfire if pushed for with regulators

backfire how tho? cuz not enough influence? cuz on shaky legal grounds and couldn't be "agreed to" without laws being changed or court challenges? cuz we're not organized enough? isn't a lot of this about pushing what "we" believe to be right TO them and fighting for that?

I would like the space to act more cordial in these times. The headlines can't read "crypto bros fuming mad at regulation". We'll never get anywhere. That being said Sam there is a middle ground here that you are missing and many reps in govt would be keen on seeing compromise

There are many leaders in the space and regs and politicians who agree framework has to be built entirely unique to our situations in the space. The current drafts and some takes you've listed earlier would fall under jumping the gun with a rigid backward thinking implentation.
