Have we completely forgotten that in this country *we* are supposed to be the government? Free citizens shouldn't have to go begging to bureaucrats to build and use neutral tools.

Right now devs can’t write code in the US without fear of requiring a license they couldn’t possibly get, and you can’t launch a token without fear of prosecution for not completing a registration no one could complete. If the industry argues for no regs this is what we get.

Please take this honest feedback, then: your first attempt missed the mark. Neutral tools should be neutral. On chain government black lists & state controlled ability to freeze and seize funds non-starters. It's no different than mandated back doors for encryption.

it's not the same thing as state ability to freeze -- validators/etc. are neutral I seriously think you'll have a hard time drafting a set of policies that are (a) better and (b) will make any progress by pushing for them, but I could be wrong!

Again, we are the government, no? If our lawmakers refuse to support policies that reflect the will of the people, then rather than caving to their unreasonable demands, use your resources to push for political change.

I highly doubt the consensus view of the American people is that the government should have this kind of control. They might not understand the technical details, but they know that the banks, Wall Street, and politicians are all in bed together and that it's deeply unfair.
