small feedback wrt the new

app update. The default is now 'Amount of Coins' instead of 'Amount in USD'. It's counter-intuitive & very dangerous. If someone wants to buy 10k USD worth of SOL and didnt notice, he will end up buying 10k SOL (~$332k) instead.

A short story of how I almost blew my account because of new ftx app update. So today I saw egld news and aped very small size (2k usd) because I was already in other positions. A few hours later I recieved an email that my position is close to liquidation.

Why don’t you hire a group of UX people who do extensive usability testing with real users? People from CT can participate in that testing of urs. U can provide some lemons for participating. Ur team creates a new mockup that gets build. FTX - for the people, by the people, ?

The issues with FTX can not be fixed by mere changing a few things here and there as a BAU. It needs a complete overhaul of the UX.

The thing is that the default has always been in USD, until the recent update. By users’ familiarity, especially those who used it for a long time, the “new default” will have a high chance to be screwed up somehow. Maybe we can choose which default we want in settings page?😊

For context, this has always been how it looks like on the FTX app since Day 1 (or for as long as I remember). You type in either amount in SOL, or USD. No room for careless mistake. I have yet to update my app because I'm sure that I'll be one of the careless people one day lol

USD should obviously be default since by extension some are super cheap leading to super large numbers and and some coins are extremely expensive leading to super small numbers

Traders who have been using this app for years are used to typing the amount in usd. Since the last update you have to switch it up from a coin to usd manually. This is not convenient and when you have to act fast you may not notice it if you are used to the previous app design.

Since its a liquidation email. I assume SOL-PERP My best guess is in USD Most futures futures traders on FTX think in USD. Unless the contracts were inverse like on Bitmex/Deribit. BTC/SOL or whatever makes sense. Since FTX doesn't have that and our account is USD. USD it is

Also maybe a bar on phone. When putting an order. See how much % that is of your max size/portfolio. So people know. It's a very sad case for him/others to get liquidated like this.
