"Higher epistemic standards for journalism and books" and "Better news" give me the most pause, because they both presuppose that journalism is broken in its current form (an idea favored and championed by folks in the crypto space).

from "Better news": "We’d be excited to see a news organization that [...] carefully discusses the arguments for and against different views..." sure seems like they're "excited" about a news org that seeks to increase false balance (both sides-ism), by design. eyebrow raising.

said) -- none of these initiatives are about crypto (that's my day job). The news/media parts of this are about pro-democracy, pro-rationality, and anti-demagogue initiatives. We'll clarify this a bit on the website!
