Some thoughts:
1) definitely make sense to tackle it! Offsetting can do some; using other chains/lightning/L2s/etc. can help reduce load/cost too.
2) BTC energy usage is mostly in line with its economic impact; worth improving, as are many other things, but not an outlier
I don’t think she cares about reading sensible thoughts, it doesn’t fit her agenda.

We need something like stripe.com/climate for bitcoin mining. Imagine if we got major mining pools to distribute profits towards carbon capture.

But why? Btc mining captures carbon already. It’d be a third level of taxation….
bank world wide using energy more compare to bitcoin mining only using for the past 10years

While BTC energy use IS in line with its CURRENT economic impact, as it appreciates, it will be proportionately less.
Additionally, Bitcoin mining provides off peak demand that significantly incentivizes renewable energy production, while also consuming stranded energy.

Unfortunately Sam, I doubt that cares about the truth of Bitcoin’s ability to help the environment. She seems more interested in spreading FUD to block its growth, as a true SOV would threaten her agenda of near infinite government spending.
I hope I’m wrong…
