In any case, don’t think retail fees are coming down anytime soon and I’m not sure if a “zero commission” competitor would have a good shot siphoning clients away from Coinbase. You need to win with product not pricing IMO
Even with Robinhood, I don’t think the zero commission Branding is what got people to download the app - sure that was part of it, but at the end of the day the UX was way better than boomer TDAmeritrade
I wrote about this very issue - Coinbase’s brand & UX is worth more here than I think people realize. They can charge more bc they’re “easy”, and easy counts for a lot in crypto.
