deleting b/c it was really poorly phrased and was getting mas mis-interpreted Energy usage is a cost of PoW; it's also the security mechanism of it. Something can have a drawback without being bad.

To be clear here: twitter.com/SquawkCNBC/sta 1) There are lots of advantages to PoW. Its security is less reliant on historical ordering than PoS, it's in some cases harder to quickly buy scale to attack, harder to hedge attacks, etc.

It can be, speaking in absolutes isn't always the best. When/if bitcoin hits $300,000 a pop, the rolling blackouts around the world probably won't inspire a "Thank god we have Bitcoin" moment.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. There is a near infinite amount of sustainable electricity in the world - it just has to be developed. Bitcoin fixes this.
