Honestly, he likely did and doesn't find it to be a problem. But Tesla needs to stay ESG and I'm guessing the stock could be removed from ESG portfolios if they didn't do this. And Tesla also needs to collect a lot of subsidies tied to its environmental mission

No, you just assumed he was reasonable. If he actually has aspirations for Mars and Tesla buys 1B in BTC you assume he understands there is a chance BTC can accelerate or even BE the reason HE will stand on Mars one day. He is wasting that chance on Doge, even as a joke.
