here. I don't think Robinhood did something evil. I think they did something incompetent: they weren't prepared for heavy usage. But for them to say they handled it *well* is fucked up.

goes both ways tho, he doesn't believe retail were net sellers when data shows they were (slighlty)+ a ton of institutions were long. also wasn't willing to see the other side of his "just close the market" point.not being able to sell is just as bad when other brokers allow it

Robinhood is "frictionless" most likely because a cash float is retro-actively behaving against derivatives. No commission and partial shares isn't the real stock market, so how did they make it work at all? That's why they had to stop. Use a real exchange.
