Can we have coin-margined futures so I can do easier cash and carry trades?
Conversation
FWIW you can already use coins as collateral for all futures
Thank you! Just worried about the fact that if I buy spot/sell futures and we rip more, I’ll be running a sizable negative USD balance and the interest rate has been hitting 100%

Both your collateral mgmt system AND your f*cking free withdrawal fees should be MUCH more highlighted imo.
I mean, ffs, you can trade linear perps with btc or eth or whatever you want as collat & use FTX as the free central node of all your cross-exchanges/chains transfers!
Another cool/funny thing with this is the lower you opened your short 1x, the higher the principal now used to apply funding rate.

Major difference re/ funding:
If you 1x short on a linear contract like FTX, (let's say 1 contract, so 1 BTC), the usd value of your position will constantly fluctuate (10k when btc's at 10k, 15k at 15k, etc.). So the funding you'll receive will differ from inverse contracts.

Agreed, if I buy spot and sell perp then the amount I’m collecting funding on will increase on a rally, which is good if the funding rate is higher than the borrow cost of USD. I’m just looking for a set it and forget it cash and carry trade for quarterly futs
