I used to think this! I don't anymore. I now think that the majority of the value is in the individual pieces instead of the bridges. (But I could be wrong!)

btw my play for a multi-chain future isnt to bet on specific chains but it is to bet on a cross chain bridge in the most pessimistic scenario, you'd expect BTC and ETH + ERC20s realistically there would also be privacy coins + the other economically significant chain

Hmm I don't think cross-chain bridges are the bet, but I do think useable bridge interfaces are critical to get consumers. I think it's why $STAKE is outshining other EVM sidechains, automated trustless bridge of any token + just switch network in MM Good ex for competitors

While this may be true, the value of individual chains wouldn’t be fully realized w/o frictionless flow of capital between them. I’m sure you’re aware of this with your restricted exchanges. The true value of a cross-chain DEX hasn’t been fully unlocked… yet

I used to think what Sam said, but i dont anymore. A chain that can do *everything* is yet to be built - having a bridge that allows diff chains to complement in a scalable way sounds more promising. In a world of terrible analogies - a real general surgeon does not exist

bridges tend to be more interchangeable though -- even if they're important that doesn't mean they're valuable
