"Build on top of" ≠ "copycat repo". I gather they've made progress from #2 towards #1 but that would be an extremely charitable take on the original release.

It didn't tkae Sushiswap that long to build more features than Uniswap has; that has been true since close to the beginning of the project.

I'll certainly admit my take is colored by its vampiric origins. If you want to build on top of someone else's work - don't start like that.

How would you start? It was dirty for sure but that’s quite literally standard practice in basically all business environments. Had SushiSwap not done that, would it be able to accomplish what it has so far? Probably not

You start by saying "Uniswap started something awesome but we think we can build something even better." You don't siphon fees in the name of the "community"
2
who's siphoning fees? if you're about to say SUSHI holders - those are - in return - paying for the growth marketing

It seems to me you guys are talking as if Chef Nomi never made a penny off it. I'm talking about the early days.

They certainly made a lot less than the Uniswap team did!
In fact close to nothing; they walked away having given back the dev fund.

I know that Sam... How many times do I need to repeat I'm talking about the *original* launch.

And I mean gee, why would the Uniswap team have earned more than Sushi at that stage?

They did, and should have!
But at this point the uniswap team are millionaires, if not 8-figures, and most of the sushiswap team is paid very little.
So, like, I don't really think this is a point in your favor, particularly.
