This is a very interesting thread. I'd add (and this is not a popular opinion) that Solana would see 100x of the current adoption and developer activity if it used Solidity. People LOVE to shit on Solidity but that's what made blockchain dev extremely approachable.

short-term, yes definitely: that's what blockchain devs know
long term, less clear: there are way more rust devs in the world than solidity devs

I worked for a platform for a long long time that allowed smart contracts in C. There are a giant pool of C developers, yet... well. Never underestimate "deploy your own token in 20 minutes with Solidity" YouTube videos. We need developer masses too, not just retail masses.
